Urban-Suburban School Exchanges

An outgrowth of the urban and suburban school visits that are conducted as part of the Urban Teacher Academy at The College of New Jersey, the Center for Future Educators, through its New Jersey Future Educators Association, annually hosts “Urban-Suburban School Exchanges.”  The exchanges were first implemented in 2014 to help bridge the gap in understanding between urban and suburban youths.  Today, these highly successful and popular exchanges open dialogue and connect aspiring future educators from diverse backgrounds.  Schools that have participated in the exchanges include:

  • Cranford High School
  • Foundation Collegiate Academy (Trenton)
  • Henry Snyder High School (Jersey City)
  • Memorial High School (West New York)
  • Middletown High School North
  • Middletown High School South
  • Morris Hills High School
  • South Brunswick High School
  • West Windsor-Plainsboro High School-South
