We are pleased to share the following message with a special opportunity for future STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) teachers:

Happy New Year! I hope that you had a relaxing and delicious holiday, and that your 2018 is off to a great start.

My name is Dr. Danielle Jacobs. I am a Professor of Chemistry at Rider University, and the director of our new prestigious NSF-funded STEM Scholars Future Teacher Full-Tuition Scholarship Program. If you have any interest in a career in teaching science or mathematics at the high school level, the STEM Scholars program is for you.  As the name implies, this program offers full-tuition scholarships, along with other benefits such as personalized advising and academic support, cost-of-living stipends, and research and development opportunities.

As the new year gets underway, and you are honing in on your top choice for transferring to a four-year college, I would like to invite you and your family to a small luncheon/information session regarding the STEM Scholars program. We truly want to get to know you and your families, your talents and interests, and your future goals, to ensure that the program is right for you—and get you headed on the right track, right away. At this information session, we will also present exclusive no-cost (and often paid) research, teaching, and development opportunities in which you would be able to take advantage, even before you are eligible for full-tuition scholarships.

The information session will be held from 11:30-1:00 on Saturday, January 13th. The location will be on Rider University’s campus, with a room to be announced at a later date.

Please RSVP to this email no later than January 10th, and include the number of guests you will be bringing. I also understand that this is short notice, so if you have any interest in the STEM Scholars program but cannot attend this luncheon, I would love to chat with you on the phone, and perhaps set up a time to meet in the future. Just let me know!

We look forward to seeing you on January 13th! In the meantime, please visit our website, www.rider.edu/stemscholars for more information, and see the attached brochures.

Sincerely,
Dr. Jacobs
